Thypoch’s Simera 35mm f/1.4 & 28mm f/1.4 Full-Frame Lenses for M-mount Cameras Available Now
After making our debut at Photopia Hamburg and Salon de la photo in Paris, Thypoch began to get bonded with a portion of manual and vintage lens lovers. Its unique philosophy of Thy-Photography came to sprout, which supports its users to explore boundless ways of personal expression via authentic images in assorted themes, i.e. street photography, portraits, landscape, fine art shooting, etc.
Nearly one month after the first appearance at the events, Thypoch is finally officially launching its first series Simera with two focal lengths - Simera FF 35mm f/1.4 & 28mm f/1.4 and are available to order globally. To spice up this first-ever launch event, this brand is also holding an attractive activity on its official Instagram with the Simera lens valued at $699 (€639) as the coveted prize.
Just as the slogan says, the ethos of “seeing into eternity” could be manifested via the ephemeral moments of everyday life. That is why Thypoch’s first series Simera was created. Infused with the meaning of “Today” in Greece, the Simera 35mm f/1.4 & 28mm f/1.4 ingeniously inspire their users to discover the hidden allure of ordinary days, in unlimited angles and untethered forms. What's more, Simera alludes to the imaging style of modernization.
Image Quality
Boasting a large aperture of f/1.4 and a 14-blade diaphragm for soft and dreamy bokeh, the Simera 35mm and 28mm easily separate the subjects from the background, offering a stunning visual of storytelling. These lenses also adopt floating elements to enhance the quality of the images shot at a close distance. Chromatic aberration and corner quality are efficiently improved thanks to the combination of aspherical elements and distinctive optics design.
Mechanical Design
To assist its users when capturing instant inspiration, the two lenses designed for Leica M mount in silver and black provide automatic depth-of-field indicators and make it easier to utilize hyperfocal
distance.
The closest focusing distances for the 35mm and 28mm are 0.45m and 0.4m respectively, enabling the users to unleash their potential for more possibilities and exploring the intricacies of the subjects with extraordinary details. Meanwhile, the lenses support rangefinders for focus and there is a subtle resistance at 0.7 meters on the focus ring to mark a need for a switch to EVF to assure focus accuracy.
The user-friendly design of de-clicked and clicked modes of aperture ring adjustments can offer a smooth transition between videography and photography applications.
