The debut series Simera by Thypoch stands out with its captivating design, especially the depth of field indicator, attracting the interest of many vintage lens enthusiasts. Building on the excellent optical performance of the existing Simera 35mm and 28mm f/1.4 lenses, the upcoming 50mm large aperture lens will feature a crescent focus tab, an improvement over the standard infinity lock, in response to strong preferences from its supporters.
The Simera 50mm f/1.4 is primarily designed for M Mount users. This lens aims to offer a perspective akin to the human eye, capturing every poetic imagination and fleeting inspiration.
Main Features:
Minimum focusing distance of 0.45 meters.
14-blade aperture achieving T1.5 light transmission.
Crescent-shaped focus tab for a smooth focusing experience.
Exceptional optical structure consisting of 6 groups of 8 elements.
De-clickable aperture mode to accommodate specific needs.
Viewfinder decoupling reminder at 0.7 meters.
Simera 50mm f/1.4 lens builds upon the impressive optical performance of the Simera 35mm and 28mm f/1.4 lenses. Its minimum focusing distance is just 0.45 meters, better than most viewfinder lenses limited to 0.7 meters. This feature opens up new possibilities for macro and intimate photography. For added usability, there is slight resistance feedback at 0.7 meters to prompt users to switch to EVF for shorter focusing distances.

Simera 50mm adopts an 8-element, 6-group optical design, including one aspherical lens, one extra-low-dispersion (ED) lens, and three high-refractive-index (HRI) lenses, delivering sharp images even at maximum aperture and in the corners. Its floating lens elements provide superb resolution at 0.45 meters, comparable to most viewfinder lenses at 0.9 meters, ensuring consistent high-definition imaging.

Optical Structure and MTF Chart
With its f/1.4 aperture, the Simera 50mm excels in low-light conditions. High refractive multi-layer coatings and high-refractive index lenses offer ample transmittance up to T1.5, presenting bright and vivid images. The cinema-standard 14-blade aperture creates a rounded and pleasing bokeh effect, showcasing smooth focal transitions for a three-dimensional cinematic visual effect. Its clickable and de-clickable aperture rings allow seamless switching between photography and video modes, enabling limitless creative expression.
