About Photography Composition
Composition involves how to arrange various elements within an image and how to use different subjects and perspectives to convey the photographer's intent and emotions. In this article, we will combine 3 composition principles with excellent works captured through the Thypoch lens to help photographers understand the practical application of different composition theories.
1. Principle of Simplicity
Before shooting, photographers should observe and select the elements that best convey the theme, such as key points, lines, shapes, and so on. During shooting, focus on the subject or key point, using contrasts between virtual and real, light and dark, to highlight the key point while minimizing the presence of redundant elements.

2. Principle of Balance
A good photograph should provide a sense of balance and stability rather than making the viewer feel uneasy. To achieve a balanced composition, photographers can distribute elements on both sides of the frame, use symmetrical composition, or divide the frame into three equal parts.

3. Principle of Contrast
Creating a more vivid and prominent image through contrast and emphasis on elements. Contrast compositions can be achieved through contrasts in light and dark, color contrasts, size contrasts, and more. For example, using black and white photography and reflectors to enhance light and dark contrast; using highly saturated colors and filters to enhance color contrast; and contrasting the size of subjects against the background.

Of course, as more and more photographers break free from conventional thinking and explore unique shooting styles, innovative compositional methods naturally emerge.
